![]() Name: Jean Marc Pingris Height/Weight: 6'4" 200 lbs. Age: 26 Date of Birth: 10/16/1981 Hometown: Pangasinan Position: Forward Years Pro: College: PSBA Teams played for: Fedex/Air21, Purefoods |
Scouting Report:
Injuries dictated his season… Went down with an injury in game 2 of the team’s quarterfinal duel with Talk N Text in the Philippine Cup and killed the Giants’ chances of repeating as champs… Had to miss out also the entire Fiesta Cup to recuperate the injury… perhaps, the only significant thing he did last season, aside from warming the bench, was marrying actress Danica Sotto… Too bad… This was supposedly the year he would dominate the league and join the ranks of teammates James Yap and Kerby Raymundo as one of the league's elite players… Instead, he’s shooting at hospital waste baskets... Drafted 3rd overall by FedEx in the 2004 draft just behind eventual ROY winner Rich Alvarez and Yap, Pingris demonstrated incredible athleticism and nose for the ball but couldn't get substantial playing time in the Express' crowded frontcourt… After just one season he was traded to Purefoods along with Egay Billones for a future draft pick. Prior to his stint in the PBA, played pro ball for the Cebu Gems in the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association and in the PBL for Welcoat Paints… He won the PBL Showcase slam dunk competition in 2003 after bringing down the backboard (take that Shaq!)… 2005-06 Philippine Cup finals MVP.
