Basketball Iron Man

Basketball is clearly a physically demanding sport. In fact, several players had seen their careers cut short by an assortment of injuries. But Ron Boone was no ordinary basketball player during his salad days. Believe it or not, but in a playing career that stretched 13 years (1968-1981), Boone didnt miss a single basketball game. That meant playing in 1,041 consecutive games - a feat unmatched in the history of the sport! Boone entered the pro ranks in 1968, suiting up for the American Basketball Association (ABA) team the Dallas Chaparrals. From 1968-69 through 1975-76, Boone saw action in 662 straight games. When the ABA folded up and merged with the NBA in 1976, Boone kept on ticking, playing another 379 games in a row. Boone played until January 1981, when he was released by the Utah Jazz from its roster. He then finally decided to hung up his worn-out sneakers.
