Scouting Report:
There were some insinuations that soon-to-be-coach Robert Jaworski asked team management that Paolo Hubalde be included in the deal that would land Artadi to Brgy. Ginebra. Paolo, of, course, is the son of Jawo's kumpare Freddie Hubalde and despite his vast talent, has not been able to show his real game in the pros... his problem is genetics - he's not tall enough to be shooting guard. He's listed at a generous 5'11" but everybody knows he's several inches shorter than that... doesn't have the playmaking ability or point guard skills to be able to play the "1" spot... was a surprise first round pick (8th overall) by San Miguel in the 2005 PBA Draft... wasn't tapped to be a can't-miss prospect until an excellent showing in the pre-draft camps quickly made pro coaches take notice... very explosive with the ball… scouts remind him so much of Fil-Am Brandon Lee Cablay but wondered if his lack of playmaking skills could hurt him his future in the pros… it did… never got to display his offensive repertoire in the loaded Beermen backcourt, appearing in only 8 games in his rookie season scoring a total of 9 points… the Beermen acknowledged that they made the wrong decision on draft day (Leo Najorda, Larry Fonacier and Cesar Catli were still available) by including him in a mega deal that involved among others Rommel Adducul, Lordy Tugade and Omanzie Rodriguez.
