He’s called KG by some because of his uncanny resemblance (both physically and game) to NBA star Kevin Garnett… drafted 6th overall in the 2005 PBA draft by the Express… an explosive slam dunk artist who has mastered the art of levitation… a highlight reel waiting to happen… KG has virtually won every slam dunk tilt in the pro and in the amateurs… made a serious run for ROY honors but because the Express only fared well in the Fiesta Cup, he lost the plum to Red Bull swingman Larry Fonacier… played varsity ball for the UE Red Warriors in the UAAP alongside Purefoods’ Paul Artadi and James Yap, and Brgy. Ginebra’s Ronald Tubid… prior to being drafted by the Express, he played for the Henry Lhuillier-sponsored RP Team which competed in various international meets… a dangerous outside shooter with range up to the three-point line.
