Scouting Report:
Does he still have it? Was once upon a time one of the top players in the land, until age and injuries degraded his outstanding ball skills… could still score and do the hang-time but he will not excite anyone anymore unlike he used to… he is only a shadow of his own self… part of the trade package that brought Fil-am Alex Cabagnot to the Tigers' roster... will still play this year, only because he still has a live contract (far bigger than the league maximum)… In his younger years, “Captain Marbel” was one of the most electrifying players… experts liken him to Allan Caidic and Samboy Lim because of his deadly perimeter shooting and acrobatic drives to the basket… 1998 PBA MVP… Selected among the top 25 greatest players in the PBA… drafted 3rd overall in the 1995 PBA Draft by Sunkist out of Adamson University… traded to Alaska in 1997 and played 5 seasons there, helping them win a grandslam and several titles… traded to Sta. Lucia in 2003 right on the draft day in exchange for the 5th pick in the draft (which Alaska would later use on Fil-Am Brandon Lee Cablay)
