Scouting Report:
Swears his marital problems are behind him now… Responded to the national team snub with career-highs and became the team’s go-to leader with the absence of Kerby Raymundo in the Fiesta Cup… struggled with his game and outside shooting during the past conference but still managed to lead the team in scoring (15.57 ppg)... he was hot in the team's last six games (20 ppg) raising it up a notch over a so-so 13.8 ppg before that.. 2005-06 PBA MVP... played for the UE Warriors in the UAAP... in his last year with the varsity, copped MVP honors but failed to led the Warriors to the 67th UAAP crown... voted 2003 PSA Best Amateur player for his feat... played in the PBL from 2001-04 for ICTSI La Salle and the Welcoat Paintmasters... picked 2nd overall behind Red Bull's Rich Alvarez in the 2004 PBA Draft... forms solid 1-2 punch in the backcourt with long-time teammate Paul Artadi... struggled with his game during his initial conference with the Hotdogs... recurring shoulder injury affected his outside shooting touch, his main weapon in the amateurs, and his confidence eroded... rebounded mightily in the suceeding conferences but it was not enough to overtake Alvarez for the ROY race... married to actress/host Kris Aquino... lethal in the open court and very dangerous with his jumpshots and devil drives towards the hoop... a cross between Samboy Lim and Allan Caidic... a second MVP award for the Escalante, Negros Occidental native could be in the offing but he must practise consistency and learn to take charge for the Giants.
