After a lengthy negotiation, Allado and the ballclub struck a deal over the weekend with the player guaranteed a maximum pay of P12.6 million in the next three years.
Over at Alaska Milk, No. 7 pick JR Quinahan signed a two-year contract yesterday although the details weren’t disclosed.
Alaska team manager Joaqui Trillo said he’ll next work on sixth pick Ken Bono’s pact today. Trillo has just returned from a US holiday.
Having gotten his new contract with Talk n Text, Allado suited up with the Pals as they clobbered the Air21 Express, 137-126, in the 2007 PBA pre-season tourney at the Fresnedi Gym in Muntinlupa Monday night.
Allado was one of seven Pals who scored in double figures against the Express who, on the other hand, leaned heavily on ace forwards Arwind Santos and KG Canaleta.
The Pals, showing up with an intact lineup toughened up by a two-week training in the United States, got off to a tentative start but dominated the Express in the last three quarters.
Air21, with an overhauled lineup, showed little cohesion in its first game in the pre-season event.
The Express jumped the gun on the Pals early but slowly faded away, falling behind by as many as 24 points.
Meanwhile, the KT&G team of Korea scored a second win in as many games against PBA teams last night, humbling Alaska Milk, 102-84, at The Arena in San Juan.
