Nic Belasco

Nic BelascoJersey number:
Name: Nicholas Belasco
Height/Weight: 6'6" 210 lbs.
Age: 34
Date of Birth: 12/10/1973
Hometown: North California
Position: Forward
Years Pro:
College: Notre Dame-Maryland
Teams played for: Swift, San Miguel, Alaska, Welcoat

Scouting Report:
Must have felt insulted Alaska peddled him to Welcoat for incoming sophomore Junjun Cabatu. Not that Cabatu is a bad player but Belasco was once upon in time one of the top players of the league... has shown signs of deterioration... clearly not the player he was a couple of years ago... The Dragons welcomed him with open arms and Nic is determined to prove the Aces were wrong when they traded him... should probably be at home with the Dragons because the draft's first pick overall Joe Devance is a close friend way back in the US... previous to his stint with Alaska, he was a San Miguel Beer mainstay... traded two seasons ago to Alaska for Brandon Lee Cablay and Mark Kong... made his presence felt immediately with the Aces, leading the team in scoring (13.2 ppg) and the entire league in rebounding (11 rpg), and has started for all of the team’s 48 games, a feat he shared with teammate Jeffrey Cariaso… drafted 2nd overall in the 1997 PBA Draft just behind Andy Seigle (#1 with Mobiline) by Sunkist out of Notre Dame University, a Division II school in the US NCAA… struggled in his stint with the Juice Makers where he averaged less than six points per game in 2 ½ years with the team… traded to San Miguel and actually flourished there… was a member of the RP team that competed in the Asian Games… a wondrous talent who can play all three frontcourt positions... Can post, shoot from the outside and defend.
