Scouting Report:
Is there anything left in the tank for Danny I?... may have peaked too early, won the MVP plum in 2000 and 2001 after copping the ROY in 1998… only player to sweep the BPC all three conferences in a single season en route to winning the MVP… right now, just a shadow of his own self at age 30… no longer the explosive, dominating presence he once was 7 years ago... injuries have ravaged his career… nicknamed the “Demolition Man” because he demolishes the opposition inside and outside… favorite antic is “raise the roof” which he does when he slams one basketball home… native of Urdaneta, Pangasinan was drafted with the 1st overall pick in the 1998 PBA Draft… created a lot of fuss prior to the draft because he applied for the draft despite having an existing contract with his amateur team Agfa Colors and to make matters worse, signed also a contract with the Pangasinan Presidents of the defunct MBA… drafted by Shell but later traded to San Miguel for the 2nd overall pick (Noy Castillo) and a future first round pick.
