Dale was toiling in the minor leagues when he got a call from Alaska bench boss to take over the huge slack left by Mike Cortez who went down with a season-ending injury… made his way to the pros with a great showing with the Iloilo Megavolts team in the defunct MBA… Shell got him in 2000 via the direct-hire route… consistency was a major issue with Dale, as he never fully realized his potential in the pros… played the first four years of his career with the Turbo Chargers before he was traded to San Miguel in a three-team trade (also involved Purefoods which got San Miguel’s first round pick) in 2004… unable to wiggle his way in the Beermen’s tight backcourt rotation, he was traded to the Tigers where he would also struggle in sharing backcourt duties with Johnny Abarrientos.
