Brandon Cablay

Brandon CablayJersey number:

Age: 29
Date of Birth: 3/1/1978
Hometown: Kealakekua, HI, USA
Position: Guard
Years Pro:
College: Vanguard University

Scouting Report:
The Giants were in hot pursuit of this one-time Vanguard University star after Red Bull acquired him from San Miguel in the offseason... did not show up in the Red Bull camp which disgusted the Barako coaching staff... after Noy Castillo got injured, and with Paul Artadi traded to Ginebra, the Giants need a reliable veteran quarterback who can play both the point and off guard spots... Cablay is an explosive guard who can shoot the lights out any given day... With Purefoods, Cablay has a chance to rekindle his game which somehow got lost during his injury-laden stint with San Miguel... very strong leaper… won the 2003 edition of the slam dunk tilt during the All-Star weekend… a very underrated defensive stopper… drafted 5th overall in the 2003 PBA Draft out of Vanguard University by Alaska, a pick previously owned by Sta. Lucia… Alaska braintrusts fell in love with him after they saw him in a video that was released days prior to the draft, so much so that they traded 1998 PBA MVP Kenneth Duremdes just to have the opportunity to get him... After a three-year stint with Alaska, he was traded to San Miguel in 2006 for Nic Belasco.
