Scouting Report:
One of the most promising young big men in the league… drafted 6th overall in the 2003 PBA Draft by Purefoods… traded to Shell in 2004 for Eddie Laure and a first round pick that would turn out to be gangling slotman Ervin Sotto… It was under the tutelage of coach Leo Austria that Billy’s star would begin to shine… he formed a very formidable frontline tandem with Rich Alvarez and Chris Jackson when Shell decided to call it quits… a very athletic rebounder and an imposing shotblocker in the paint… Shell traded him to Coca Cola for Gilbert Lao… lasted a season with the Tigers and was then traded to Ginebra.
