With the departure of Rafi Reavis, Billy Mamaril and Rudy Hatfield, Ali was the Tigers’ lone source of inside strength… He led the team in rebounds, shot blocks and makes sure he chips in his share of points… very imposing inside scorer who uses his tremendous bulk and power to bully his way inside… excellent shotblocker who makes up for his lack of size in the paint with his excellent timing, explosive leaping ability and determination… drafted 3rd overall in the 1998 PBA Draft after Danny Ildefonso and Noy Castillo… prior to his stint in the pros, played for AMA Computer College in the PBL where he first gained notice.
